AMY VAUGHAN PHOTOGRAPHY

This was a commissioned project I did for Amy Vaughan, a freelance photographer. I was tasked to create a brand identity for her maternity photography brand.

Some initial ideas for logo imagery I was asked to explore was to include a silhouette of a pregnant woman and have the logotype be in a handwritten cursive style. Amy’s initial ideas for colours were pastel pinks with black to contrast. To tie it to her expertise in photography, I included a camera. These elements led to the initial designs.

Ultimately, we moved to a round logo so that it could also be used as a social media profile picture. The final colour scheme uses a deep purple and textured rose gold with white type. The logo depicts the front of a camera lens with the silhouette of the pregnant woman in the centre.

Amy on went to use the logo across multiple applications, including branding equipment, use on her website and as an element on her business cards.
